Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dremel 761-03 Cordless Pet Nail Grooming Rotary ToolCustomer Review: Not enough power Summary: 1 StarsWith fresh batteries, this tool is still very slow. Not nearly fast enough to do the job quickly (which is essential with an animal that doesn't like to be held).
Customer Review: Dremel Pet Nail Trimmer Summary: 2 StarsDon't waste your time.
It's weak, has low RPMs and BURNS through batteries.
FOUR at a time no less.
WELL worth the money to get a real Dremel tool, it's much
easier on the pets nails and gets the job done so much
faster that they don't fidget as much. There's far less
vibration with the extra RPMs as well.
Customer Review: Convenient, but runs a bit weakly Summary: 3 StarsThis tool is a battery powered Dremel tool with a sanding drum about the diameter of a pencil. It does a much better job than the most expensive clippers we have bought. The dog tolerates this better than the clippers - she doesn't like the smell of the nail (claw) dust but hates the evil clippers that bite her from time to time. I don't know if it is the switch or the battery holder contacts, but sometimes this tool has a tough time getting up to and holding its speed. Freedom from a cord is nice, but if you already own a variable speed Dremel tool that you can really slow down (2000 rpm) with quarter- or half-inch sanding drum, you can do as well.
Customer Review: A bit disappointed Summary: 1 StarsDoes not work well on puppy nails or our senior dog. I understand it takes time and can only do a few seconds at a time, but it takes WAY too long for each nail. I would never be able to catch up... Wish it was able to shave away nails quicker. Item is loud too and not all the powerful...
Customer Review: Does not work well at all Summary: 1 StarsThe Dremel dos a poor job at grinding down nails. It is hard to control and does not do much grinding. I previously had a Peticure and it worked very well until a bearing in the motor failed. I tried the cheaper Dremel but it barely takes off any nail at all. The Peticure's nail protection cover seemed to be a little bit of a hassle, but it actually worked very well - it helped position the sanding drum and let me apply more pressure to ramove more nail faster. I think I will order a corded Peticure and be done with it.
