Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dremel 750-02 Minimite 4.8-Volt Two-Speed Cordless Rotary Tool

Customer Review: Great for my dogs' nails
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this model over the specific model marketed for dog nails because this uses a rechargeable battery versus a bunch of AA batteries on the other version. I am happy with both speed levels and relatively low noise output.

Customer Review: Bought for Dog's nails
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this product for my Lab's nails. She has really long, sharp nails and my husband and I wanted something to trim them without using a traditional dog nail clipper. The dremel works the only "problem" I have with it is that my dog's nails get hot real quick when using it so you have to keep moving it to different nails instead of staying with one nail until you are done with it. It's no big deal you just have to remember to do it. My dog isn't crazy about the dremel but tolerates it. She's not crazy about her nails being touched to begin with so my husband has to pet her and I have to do it. It's a two person thing with our dog but can be easily done with one person if your dog is ok with their nails being touched. I've never had a problem with the battery. Had it going for probably about 20-30 min straight on low and it worked fine and didn't quit on me. For bigger animals use the thicker bit. It works better that the soft one. Would highly recommend it.

Customer Review: GREAT for dogs nails!!

Grinding is the way to go to trim your dog's nails. I was terrified of cutting the quick, so I never even attempted clippers. Instead, I took my 36 lb Whippet to the pet store for weekly grindings (yes, his nails grow really fast!). After several months of watching closely at $10 a pop, I decided to give it a try myself.

I started with the Peticure, which I really liked, but I didn't have anything to compare it to. After about 14 months, the thing broke, so I decided to try the Dremel Minimite based upon the reviews I read here. I am amazed! I have to be a contortionist to trim his nails because he's so squirmy, but this makes it so much easier. It's much much quieter and smaller and it filed my dog's nails so much faster (not sure why)! It must vibrate less, too, because he didn't act as ticklish...especially on his back toesies.

**NOTE: It gets VERY hot VERY fast so I HIGHLY recommend swiping the nail for only a second and doing more swipes to trim it down. If you trim your dogs nails frequently enough, it shouldn't take much time at all.

Customer Review: Perfect for grinding my dogs nails!

My mom bought this for me christmas 2008 and it works great! easy to use, easy to charge, and my dogs don't mind it at all. Even on the low setting its way more powerful then the grinders made for dogs nails. The only issues I had is when charging my doesn't clip in good so I have to charge it with an extention cord to be sure it makes good contact which is no big deal for us. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good priced dremel tool to use with yoru pet!

Customer Review: Not a specific tool for paws

When I was looking for a dog nail clipper this tool came up as recommend nail clipper. It is a standard Dremel tool with a sanding disc. I expected to have some instructions explaining how to perform the dogs nail grooming. Nothing was in the literature. Baiscally, you still have to clip the nails with a dog clipper and then you can clean them up with this tool
